With computers getting more powerfull, needing larger power supplies and more fans its no wonder why they are so noisy. In order to quieten your computer we would first recommend that you first replace the cpu fan as this generally has the loudest fan. When replacing the cpu fan you will also need to replace the heatsink since if you are using a quieter fan you will require a larger heatsink. We would recommend getting the largest size heatsink that is compatible with you motherboard. With larger fans they can be run at lower rpms to produce the same airflow and so are quieter. The Thermalright XP-120 is currently one of the best performing heatsinks available and is a perfect match with our 120mm fan. If its incompatible with your motherboard you can always get its little brother, the XP-90 with our 92mm fan.

We would then recommend changing your case fans with our 80mm or 120mm fans if you have a case that can accept these fans. Your computer should now be very quiet but you will then start to notice your psu fan. It is possible to replace this fan if you now what you are doing but we would not recommend it at all since there a risk of electrocution due to the high voltages in the psu. We will be bringing out our own line of silent power supplies shortly.

For the graphics card you can replace the cooler to either a fanless cooler available for some cards or an artic cooling one if you have a high performance graphics card.

Next replace the northbridge cooler because it spins at 4000rpm and will sound whiny. We highly recommed the Zalman northbridge cooler since its passive and requires no fan.

Finally to silence the hard drive you can buy a fanless hard drive cooler which also reduces hard drive seeking and motor noise.
We recommend Samsung and seagate hard drives as currently they are the quietest.
If you have an IBM/Hitachi Deskstar/Travelstar Hard drive you can download their quiet seek tool which adjusts the seek speed and reduces the noise level with minimal performance drop.
It also allows you to adjust the power consumption to reduce the hard drive temperature.
